A friendly reminder that drawings are not created from nothing and don’t suddenly appear out of nowhere just to make your blog look pretty. When you look at someone’s art, you’re looking at time and hard work. You’re also looking at years of practice—sometimes a few years if they’re just beginning, sometimes decades. But there’s always effort put into any drawing, and with fan art, that effort is voluntary.
So remember to be kind and appreciative of your favorite fan artists! It can be scary to put your work out there, and they don’t have to do it. <3
Beautiful art and beautiful words. :)
I love you for saying this. I’m not a fan art blog just because I simply don’t have enough time to create as much stuff as I would like to.
I started working on this
about two weeks ago and I have no idea when the fuck am I going to finish it.
It’s funny ’cause so many people always come up to me saying “I wish I could draw like you” and I always feel like responding “Well would you be willing to spend several hours of your lifetime trying to get a simple lip curve right or to catch that particular glimpse in the eye?”
That part of creating art seems to be disregarded quite often.
I think your drawing is beautiful!
I’m also really excited by this find! :D (thanks, http://missdream.org!) In the printed manga, there’s a thought bubble for Eagle reading “Lantis…” But I like this wordless version better. It’s creepier, like you can’t imagine what’s going through Eagle’s mind as he rampages destruction!
I bet you can tell which edition of Nakayoshi my happy, happy teenaged self managed to snag back in 1996. /laughs/ It makes me tempted to go back through all these Nakayoshi scans and try to spot other significant differences between the monthly phonebooks and final tankouban…
Yaaay! Thanks to http://missdream.org/, I’ve found again the original version of the 10 senshi lined up at the end of the SuperS arc :3 :3 (the lineup is fairly different in the pritned manga, and tbh I prefer this!)
Codex Seraphinianus, 1976-1978
‘The Codex Seraphinianus is a book written and illustrated by Italian artist, architect and industrial designer Luigi Serafini, from 1976 to 1978. The book appears to be a visual encyclopedia of an unknown world, written in one of its languages, an alphabetic writing intended to be meaningless.’
Hulu just said Little Mosque on the Prairie is a “hulu-exclusive” series. I just… Hulu, for all your awesome convenience, you are a Lying Lying Liar.
World’s saddest crossover

and even if you aren’t and you having a bad days or month or year I am still proud of you.
I am proud of you for getting up in the morning, or even just waking up and sitting in bed, even if it isn’t morning.
I am proud of you continuing to exist because sometimes that’s just so much work.
